BIOGRAPHY
Karan Mangeshkar
I was born in a quite coastal town where Rabindranath penned his early work Praktir Pratisodh. I grew up, just north, in a beautiful charming land named Goa, nestled in the bosom of the western ghats or hills. I consider myself lucky, to have been caught between vastly different cultures and customs.
I grew up around mythical and occult narratives, and my father has published many works. I never believed. Truth be told, every man – every being – needs to wrestle with the idea of the existence of a higher power. It is a necessity – a precursor to install faith in oneself – and whomever says otherwise is either a fraud or is a journey of discovery. I wrestled with this too, and I was placed on a path. To bring value to the world through literature.
The summer of 2016, is when my 20-year old self had an epiphany – what if these stories be narrated from a modern perspective? That’s when the adventure began.
I hope to inspire many to write, to read, and to understand what it means to dedicate yourself to your culture. I hope to bring forgotten tales into the limelight – even for a few years – as that is my dharma.
